Chamber Members
Operating a business in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven
marketplace can be a challenge for both new and well seasoned entrepreneurs, but
there is strength in numbers and that is what motivates our 90 members.
The chamber offers a consistent and economical networking tool to business
people and business interests. When they come together as a group they have
higher visibility . . . they have a greater voice.
This diverse Sackville contingent of merchants, industrialists, dot com
specialists and others strive to maintain a lead role on business and community
issues, whether it be through representation to government, providing a forum
for members to share their experiences, or simply communicating the goals and
objectives of the chamber to the general public.
Since the chamber was formed in 1991 with only 31 members, we have always worked
hard to make a positive difference in the quality of life here in Sackville.
Through our increasingly popular fund raising events like the Annual Dinner and
Auction and the Annual Golf Tournament, we are able to expand on
community-minded efforts, whether it be through support for plans to build a new
recreation complex, adding equipment to community playgrounds or contributing to
the local food bank.
Membership is held in the name of the company/individual. Fees are based in most
instances on the size of the firm as determined by the average number of
employees (inclusive of part- or full-time employees working 40 hours/week). The
number of designated representatives is determined by the size of the firm and
the amount of the membership fee as shown on the fee schedule. A member may
increase the number of its designated representatives by paying an additional
$100 fee. Each representative shall be considered a full member of the Chamber
with all the rights, privileges, and duties of such membership. These membership
fees for member firms are tax-deductible as a business expense.
