Sandy Harper

Sandy joined the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce as President in 2010 though she has been involved in the Chamber as an active member for twenty years. Sandy’s prime motivation for being involved in the Chamber is to grow the Chamber into a vital business resource and advocate for the Greater Sackville business community.

Sandy is the past owner of The Flying A, a retail store that sold Mount Allison University crested clothing and accessories.

Sandy is very active in the Sackville business community. In addition to her involvement in the Chamber, Sandy served two terms on the board of the Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC), an organization that assists and lends money to new and expanding small businesses in their local area. Sandy has also been an active Rotarian for almost 10 years and has sat on the board of the Rotary Club of Sackville in various capacities, including as Foundation Chair, Secretary, and President.

Originally from Ottawa, Sandy moved to Sackville in 1981 to enjoy a small community lifestyle.

Ugo Babineau

Ugo joined the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce in 2007 as he wanted to be able to help the local businesses to gain access to networking channels through the Chamber. He also wanted to be involved in the success of our local businesses through our actions.

Ugo is currently a Manager at Moneris Solutions and has been working a tthe company for since 2002. In the past, Ugo has worked as an employment councillor for the federal government helping businesses find the proper employees to meet their needs as well as helping individuals find employment.

Ugo has also been involved in volunteer activities, such as local fundraising, a trainer of an improvisation league, participating in soup kitchens, tree planting in Sackville, etc. Ugo also completed studies at the University of Moncton and achieved a degree in psychology (major) and political science (minor).

Ugo is originally from northern New Brunswick and moved to the Moncton area in 1997. After living in Moncton for approximately 6 years, Ugo then moved to Memramcook. While he continues to reside in Memramcook, Ugo has been involved with Sackville for the past 8 years. He believes this is a lovely community that offers a multitude of opportunities for its residents and businesses. Ugo is glad to be a part of the Sackville community through his current employer and through the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce.

Scott Embree
Scott Embree is a managing partner in Sears Insurance. Established in Sackville, Sears Insurance has grown to become one of the largest insurance brokerage concerns in Southeastern New Brunswick with offices in Sackville, Moncton and Cap Pele.

Scott has been active with the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce since 1996 and was a member of the board from 1997 to 2000 and is once again a member of the board as of May 2010. His primary motivation is to support and be proactive on town issues and strategic goals that affect the local business community. Scott supports promoting the viability of local businesses and putting forth a “Shop Sackville First” mentality.

Scott is an active member of the Sackville community. In addition to the Chamber, Scott has acted as the Chair of the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation and has sat on the board of directors for the Tantramar Regional Civic Centre, Sackville Golf and Country Club, Insurance Community Action Network, and the Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick. He also assists the Insurance Bureau of Canada on Special projects.

Scott is an active coach. He has coached youth hockey since 1988 and has coached soccer for the Marshview Middle School girls and boys teams and teams for the Sackville Youth Soccer Association. Scott is a supporter of all sports. As a young person, Scott played hockey, soccer, basketball, rugby and tennis and found playing sports to be very beneficial. Scott strongly believes in supporting the youth of our community and feels that the more we (as residents of the greater Sackville area) support local business, the more they can, in turn, support the local community and youth and employ local residents.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Scott moved to Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario before moving to Sackville in 1986 to attend Mount Allison University (B.Comm 1990). Scott decided to make Sackville his home. Scott resides here with his wife Lisa where they have raised their four children.

Tony Frost

Tony Frost is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Mount Allison University, ranked as Canada’s top undergraduate destination. A recent addition to Sackville, he is excited to help the Town’s business community achieve its goals and objectives.

An active volunteer in the community, Tony has served on the Board of Directors for the United Way, worked on neighbourhood “greening” initiatives, helped with Earth Day activities, and coached minor hockey and soccer.

Tony has more than 20 years experience in the communications field in the private, government, and post-secondary education sectors. With extensive experience providing strategic direction and hands-on support in the development of integrated marketing materials and campaigns, Tony has led teams that have been nationally recognized ten times for their work.

Prior to joining Mount Allison Tony was employed by Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He holds both a Bachelor and Master of Arts from Laurier. Born and raised in Ontario, Tony is very much enjoying life in the Maritimes with his wife Lisa, sons Ryan and Hayden, and daughter Kayla.

Elizabeth Macdonald

Elizabeth joined the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce in 2010 as a Board member. Her interest in joining the Chamber lies with wanting to get involved in the local community and helping to support the mission of the Chamber in Sackville.

Elizabeth is currently the branch manager at the Royal Bank of Canada, Sackville Branch.

Elizabeth’s past activities include being on the Board of Directors of the Junior Achievement of New Brunswick and participating in many other activities that support communities, such as the United Way and the IWK Health Centre.

Elizabeth is a new addition to the Sackville community having moved here in May 2010.

Darren Wheaton

Darren is very well known around town through his management involvement at Ducky's Pub, at George's Roadhouse, his work at Wheaton's All-In-One and the Enterprise Fawcett Foundry. He is especially noted for his work promoting and assisting with live entertainment at venues around town.

Darren first became involved in the Chamber in 2005 when he was appointed for a three-year term as a member at large. He was later named Treasurer in 2007 and then completed a term as President.

Jonathan Clark

Jonathan is the current Manager of the Tantramarsh Club, Mount Allison University's campus Pub. Jonathan has been involved with the Chamber since 2005.

Jonathan has a wide range of non-business interests and activities. His interests include silviculture, working as a professional DJ and music producer, and his involvement with organizations, such as Conduct Becoming, which raises funds to help in the fight against cancer.

Wynn Meldrum

Wynn W. Meldrum has practiced law in Sackville for over 30 years and is also an adjudicator in the New Brunswick Small Claims Court. Wynn was appointed to the GSCC Board of Directors in 2008.
